The Indian Air Force (IAF) is assigned with the responsibility of protecting our country. This branch of the Indian Armed Forces was established on October 8, 1932. Over the years, the IAF has grown to be one of the most powerful air forces in the world.

USA
The United States Air Force (USAF) is dedicated to “fly, fight and win – airpower anytime, anywhere.” The use of fixed-wing aircraft in combat operations began during World War I which took place in Europe on July 28, 1914. Over time, the US emerged as the global leader in air combat technology. Today, the USAF boasts a fleet of 13,043 active aircraft.
Russia
Founded in 1920, the Russian Air Force is more inclined toward combat helicopters and aircraft. Some prominent fleets in the combat department include the Su-27/30/35, the Su-34 and the MiG-29/35. There are 130 Il-76 high-wing quad jets as well. They have 4,292 active fleets.
China
The Republic of China Air Force (ROCAF) was established in 1920. At present, they have a total of 3,309 active fleets. China’s air fleet, consisting more than 1,500 combat aircraft primarily features fighter jets such as the Chengdu J-7, Shenyang J-11 and J-10. The J-11 is inspired by the Soviet-designed Sukhoi Su-27. It flaunts China’s advancements in the aerospace industry and military aviation.
India
The IAF marked its official operational flight on April 1, 1933. The team comprised 6 RAF-trained officers and 19 air soldiers also known as Havai Sepoys. The initial fleet had 4 Westland Wapiti IIA biplanes. There are 2,229 active fleets in the IAF at the moment with the 265 Su-30s and 130 Jaguar M/S dominating the combat aircraft fleet.
South Korea
The year 1949, marked the formation of the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF). Being the 5th largest in the world, they have a 1,592 active fleet. They expanded their wings by adding 16 new aircraft in 2024.
