Bank Holiday Today: The banking services remain suspended in several states on Muharram; however, due to lack of clarity of date, the residents are curious to know whether the banks will remain closed on July 7. The month of Muharram started on June 27, and Yaum-e-Ashura was celebrated on July 6, ten days later.

The banks remained closed in several states on July 6 due to the celebration, but the banks will operate on July 7 as per their schedule. Earlier on July 6, the banks remained closed, but other banking services, including internet banking and ATMs, remained open for the customers. The RBI has advised the residents to check the schedule and plan accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.

Will Banks Remain Closed On July 7?

The RBI calendar suggests that the banks will not remain closed on July 7, as Yaum-e-Ashura was celebrated on Sunday. The authority stated that all the private and public sector banks will operate as per their regular schedule. It further advised the customers to follow the calendar and stay updated to avoid any confusion. The calendar also suggests that apart from regular weekends, the banks will remain closed for five more days in July.
