Panchak in Sawan 2025:This year Panchak will be observed from July 13 and it will last for a period of 5 days. The first day of Panchak will fall on Sunday and since it is the month of July, it will be called Rog Panchak.
This is the time period when it is said one should avoid doing any auspicious work at all. This means one should avoid having wedding ceremonies, housewarming parties, buying of some property, among other things, during this time. Besides, this, one is likely to face physical and mental problems. Also, it is best to avoid travelling towards the south. The idea behind Panchak is rooted in the belief that cosmic energies are not favorable during this phase, and starting something new might face obstacles or bad outcomes. However, if important tasks must be done during Panchak, some remedial rituals (Panchak Shanti) can be performed under guidance of a learned priest to neutralize the dosha.
The word “Panchak” comes from the Sanskrit word “Pancha” meaning five. It refers to a duration when the last five constellations (nakshatras) of the zodiac – Dhanishta, Shatabhisha, Purva Bhadrapada, Uttara Bhadrapada, and Revati – are active.
Panchak in Sawan 2025:If a person dies during the Panchak period, also known as “Panchak Death” it is believed that 5 members of his family will die within 24 months. As per Garuda Purana, Panchak Dosha causes further miseries and problems for the family.
