Noida Metro Expansion: Metro travel is set to get even more convenient for daily commuters. Passengers will soon be able to reach Boraki Railway Station directly via the Aqua Line metro.
The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) on Thursday officially announced the extension of the Aqua Line from Greater Noida Depot to Boraki (Bodaki) Railway Station a long awaited move that will significantly improve regional connectivity.
The Centre has approved a 2.6 km metro extension that will run from the current Greater Noida Depot station to the upcoming Multi-Modal Transport Hub at Boraki. The project, with an estimated cost of Rs 416.34 crore, will be completed within three years and is expected to benefit around 60,000 commuters daily
Confirming the announcement, NMRC Executive Director Mahendra Singh told IANS, “Today is a big day for Noida city. The extension of the metro line from the Greater Noida Depot Station to the upcoming Multi-Modal Hub in Boraki, covering 2.6 km, has been approved. The total project cost is Rs 416 crore and it will be completed within three years…”
The extended metro corridor will include two new metro stations and will link up with a planned multi-modal hub, improving last-mile connectivity and easing travel between Noida, Greater Noida, and other parts of the National Capital Region (NCR).
The groundwork for the project had been in progress for some time. On May 26, NMRC made a formal presentation of the proposed metro line before the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). Following discussions and technical evaluations, the project received official clearance and a go-ahead via an approval letter.
