Kingdom box office Day 1: Vijay Deverakonda’s film opens with Rs 15 crore

Kingdom box office Day 1:After facing several delays, actor Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Kingdom’ finally released in theatres on July 31 and has opened to positive reviews.
Given the positive word of mouth, the film witnessed a decent opening and earned Rs 15 crore.
According to early estimates, ‘Kingdom’ earned Rs 15.50 crore on its opening day, with the highest turnout coming from the Telugu market. The film registered a 63.56 per cent occupancy during the morning shows, which slightly dipped to 56.52 per cent in the afternoon and 50.12 per cent in the evening. However, the night shows saw a rise, recording an overall occupancy of 61.27 per cent.
Notably, ‘Kingdom’ outperformed Vijay Deverakonda’s previous release ‘The Family Star’, which opened with just Rs 5.75 crore. It also slightly surpassed the first-day collection of his 2024 film Khushi, which had earned Rs 15.25 crore on day one.
The film also managed to beat the opening day collection of his 2022 release ‘Kushi’, ( Rs15.25 crore). But he didn’t beat the opening day business of his 2019 release Liger ( Rs 15.95 crore) – which is also the highest opening of his career.
IndiaToday.in’s review of the film read,”Cinematographers Girish Gangadharan and Jomon T John’s frames take us to Sri Lanka, and Anirudh Ravichander’s music makes us revel in their world. If only the story also lived up to the expectation, ‘Kingdom’ would be a wholesome film.”
