MG Motor Cars Set to Get Costlier in India From Next Year

JSW-MG Motor announces up to 2% price hike across models effective January 1, 2026

India News:
As 2025 draws to a close and 2026 approaches, several automobile manufacturers have begun announcing price hikes for the Indian market. The latest company to join the list is JSW-MG Motor, which has confirmed that prices of its cars in India will increase from next year.

According to the official announcement, MG Motor will implement a price hike of up to 2 percent. The increase will apply across the company’s entire product lineup sold in India and will come into effect with the start of the new calendar year.

Revised price lists for different models and variants are expected to be released next month.

As is usually the case, the price hike effective from January 1, 2026, has been attributed to rising input costs and broader macroeconomic factors. However, the company may refrain from increasing prices of its recently launched mid-size SUV, the updated MG Hector facelift, which was introduced earlier this week.

MG Motor has also temporarily halted production of the diesel variant of the Hector and plans to relaunch it sometime in 2026.

Earlier, luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz had also announced a price increase across its models in India, effective January 1, 2026.
