Pathirana Ruled Out of T20 World Cup Due to Injury

Sports: Sri Lankan fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup due to injury.

He has been replaced in the squad by 25-year-old Dilshan Madushanka.

Pathirana suffered a muscle cramp while bowling during Sri Lanka’s match against Australia. Following medical scans, the team’s medical staff confirmed that the cramp in the hamstring area of his left leg would require several weeks of recovery.

Sri Lanka have qualified for the Super 8 round, where Madushanka will step in as Pathirana’s replacement.

The Sri Lankan team is set to face England, New Zealand, and Pakistan at home during the Super 8 stage of the tournament.
