Speeding Trailer Runs Amok in Hazaribagh: Tempo, Bus, Truck and Two Shops Crushed, Fruit Seller Killed
Panic at Charhi More as out-of-control trailer plows through vehicles and roadside stalls; five people injured, driver absconding.

Hazaribagh: A tragic road accident created panic on Saturday morning at Charhi More in Hazaribagh after a speeding trailer rammed into multiple vehicles and roadside shops, leaving one person dead and five others injured.
According to reports, the trailer was heading toward Hazaribagh when it first struck a tempo, dragging it along before crashing into a bus and a 407 mini-truck. Passengers in the bus and tempo tried to escape the collision, but the impact left several people injured.
The out-of-control trailer then plowed into two roadside stalls, destroying them completely. One of the stalls belonged to fruit seller Uday Singh, who was present at the time of the accident. He was trapped under the debris and suffered critical injuries.
Local residents quickly rushed to the spot and began rescue efforts. Singh was pulled out from the wreckage and rushed to a hospital, but he died on the way, officials said.
A total of five people were injured in the accident, some of them seriously. All injured victims were given first aid and later admitted to a hospital in Hazaribagh. Doctors said the seriously injured patients are being kept under close observation.
The accident caused massive traffic congestion at Charhi More, as the damaged vehicles, trailer debris and wreckage blocked the road for hours. Local authorities and police worked with residents and the fire brigade to carry out rescue and clearance operations.
Police officials said the trailer driver fled the scene immediately after the accident, and a search operation has been launched to trace him. Preliminary investigation suggests that overspeeding and a possible brake failure may have caused the accident. However, a detailed probe is still underway, and efforts are being made to identify the trailer owner and driver.
Situation After the Incident
The accident has sparked fear and concern among local residents in Hazaribagh. Questions are now being raised about road safety and the monitoring of heavy vehicles on highways.
Locals have demanded stricter regulations to control the speed of heavy vehicles and improve safety measures on major roads. Due to the accident, traffic remained disrupted for several hours before authorities began clearing the debris and restoring normal movement.
Apart from the one fatality and five injuries, the accident also caused significant damage to roadside shops. Fruits, vegetables and other goods kept in the stalls were completely destroyed. Shopkeepers have appealed to the administration for assistance.
