A 14-year-old boy was bitten on the neck by a stray dog, after which the boy started barking like a dog – the heartbreaking video has gone viral!
A 14-year-old boy named Nitin Nath from Bahadia village in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh has tragically died of rabies after being bitten by a stray dog.
On June 16, while staying at his aunt’s house in Rajendra Nagar area, the boy was playing outside the house and a stray dog bit him on the neck.
The boy was rushed to the Pichia District Hospital. There he was given three doses of the rabies vaccine. The fourth vaccine was scheduled to be given on July 14. In this situation, Nitin’s condition started deteriorating and the boy started behaving like a dog and barking.
Later, when the boy was taken back to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, the doctors said that he was fully vaccinated and is currently not in a recoverable condition. The boy’s brain was reportedly severely affected by rabies and doctors advised him to be sent home.
But when the family took the boy to a traditional healer, his condition deteriorated further and the child died. In this regard, the boy’s family has made serious allegations that the doctors failed to provide complete treatment in time.
They said, “His condition was deteriorating day by day after the dog bite. After a few days of treatment in the hospital, he was sent home again. But when we tried to take him for treatment again, he was not admitted.” Nitin’s father is a daily wage labourer. The elder of the two brothers, Nitin was born into a daily wage labourer family and this loss has turned their lives upside down.
