Amit Shah to Hold Road Rally in Shivagiri Today in Support of BJP Candidate
Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hold a road rally on Sunday (April 19) in Shivagiri of Erode district in support of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate. In view of his visit, strict security arrangements have been put in place.
Amit Shah is scheduled to arrive in Erode district by helicopter at around 9:30 AM, landing at a ground near Tamarai Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Thamaraipalayam, located about 7 km from Shivagiri. From there, he will proceed by car and is expected to reach Shivagiri at around 10:00 AM.
He will begin the road rally near the Shivagiri Government Hospital and proceed up to the Dheeran Chinnamalai statue near the old bus stand area, covering a distance of approximately 850 meters. The rally is being held in support of BJP candidate S. Krithika from the Modakkurichi constituency. After the कार्यक्रम, he will leave the area.
Extensive security has been deployed across Shivagiri for the visit. Under the leadership of Erode district Superintendent of Police Kiran Shruti, more than 500 police personnel have been stationed from the Thamaraipalayam helipad area to the rally route. Authorities are also conducting verification of residents and shop owners along the route, collecting address details and Aadhaar information as part of security checks.
Additionally, the use of drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles has been banned in the Thamaraipalayam school ground and Shivagiri areas where the Union Minister’s helicopter will land and where the rally will take place. District Magistrate S. Kandasamy has warned that strict action will be taken against anyone violating the ban.
