Amitabh Bachchan salutes India’s Agniveers, celebrates country’s booming GDP

Actor Amitabh Bachchan, in a series of posts on X, praised India’s rise as the fourth-largest economy in the world. The megastar of Bollywood also shared a tribute to the Indian army by referring to them as ‘Agniveers’.
Bachchan, who’s known for writing and organising his posts on social media, and on his blog, made two patriotic notes on Monday morning. The first post also mentioned the US, China and Germany as the top three economies in the world, with India on number four.
His first post read, “T 5390(ii) – ! India 4th largest economy in the World.. USA, China, Germany, India.. and 2.5 – 3 yrs will become 3rd largest.. United States: With a GDP of $30.51 trillion. China: With a GDP of $19.23 trillion. Germany: With a GDP of $4.74 trillion. India : approx $ 4 trillion (sic).”
In his next post, he shared a picture of Indian soldiers, and wrote in Hindi, “T 5390 (iii) Agniveer Zindabad!! Jai Bharat Mata Ki !! Jai Hind (sic),” adding the tricolour emoji.
The 82-year-old also shared a few poetic lines from his father, legendary poet, late Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s collection. Bachchan wrote on X in Hindi: “[T 5390 (i) – “Who does he blame, And to whom should I tell my sorrow, When soil does injustice to soil” ~ Harivanshrai Bachchan (sic).”
Bachchan recentlybroke his silence on India’s Operation Sindooragainst the terrorist centres in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The actor first kept making empty posts, and on May 11, wrote at length about the ghastly Pahalgam terrorist attack that claimed 26 innocent lives, mostly tourists.
