Bengal Weather: Moderate Rain, Thunder Likely In Kolkata, Hooghly, Jhargram, Nadia, Other Southern Districts Amid 2 Cyclonic Circulations

Bengal Weather: According to the India Meteorological Department monsoon rain is likely to gain momentum this week. South Bengal districts, including Kolkata are likely to experience heavy to moderate showers as a result.
North Bengal districts will also see rain activity. The weather will change due to two cyclonic circulations. One over north Odisha and the surrounding region and another over the central Bay of Bengal. The weather body has issued a yellow alert starting Thursday, June 12.
According to the weather body, along with rain, Kolkata is likely to witness gusty winds (30 to 40 kmph). From Wednesday, all districts of South Bengal including Kolkata will experience thunderstorms. Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Jhargram and Nadia are expected to be impacted. Along with these districts, thunderstorms are also forecast for Bankura on Thursday.
Bengal Weather: Meanwhile, scattered light to moderate rain will continue in the northern districts throughout the week. Thunderstorms will occur in all the northern districts till Saturday. Heavy rain (7 to 11 cm) will begin from Sunday. Continuous heavy rains will continue in Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Cooch Behar from Sunday till next Tuesday.
