Besan Pyaaz Paratha Recipe

Step 1: Prepare the Onion Filling

  • Take thinly and lengthwise sliced onions. Separate the layers to make them finer.

  • Add a little lemon juice to the onions.

  • Mix in 2 tablespoons of roasted gram flour (besan).

  • Add salt, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, finely chopped green coriander, finely chopped green chilies, and a little chaat masala.

  • Mix everything thoroughly until well combined.

Step 2: Prepare and Stuff the Dough

  • Roll out a roti using whole wheat flour dough.

  • Lightly grease the roti with oil or ghee.

  • Spread the prepared onion filling evenly over it.

  • Roll out another roti and place it on top to cover the stuffing.

  • Cut the layered roti lengthwise into strips.

  • Roll each strip into a spiral, similar to how you prepare dough for a lachha paratha.

Step 3: Roll and Cook the Paratha

  • Take one rolled spiral and sprinkle a little nigella seeds (kalonji) and finely chopped coriander on top.

  • Gently roll it out into a round paratha.

  • Cook it on a hot pan, roasting both sides until golden brown and crispy.

Serve hot with butter and green chutney. This delicious paratha is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or even as a school tiffin option for kids. Its crispy layers and spicy onion flavor make it absolutely irresistible!
