Box Office Estimate: Baby John dips on day 2; collects Rs. 6.50 crores
The Varun Dhawan led Baby John has seen a drop in collections on 2nd Day, as the film has collected around Rs. 6 cr. to 6.50 cr. on the second day, taking total collections to Rs. 17.25 crore.
The drop is around 45% as compared to the first day, and this is an alarming sign, as it was a must for the film to hold better and take benefit of the Christmas period.
The business will be at similar levels on Friday, and is expected to see a surge on Saturday and Sunday. With the present trends, the 5-day weekend of Baby John will be around the Rs. 40 crore mark, and then its on Monday to Wednesday to decide the lifetime business.
The reports are mixed and the business is impacted by the competition from Pushpa 2 in mass belts and Mufasa in the metros, but nonetheless, it should have done much better, as there are enough screens and audience to consume the film. The remake factor too has impacted the box office performance.
The holiday period will ensure some hold at the box office in the coming few days, but once that’s gone, Baby John will have it tough at the ticket window.
