Several significant decisions were taken today at the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at the Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhawan).

The decisions span agriculture, governance reforms, public housing, procurement operations, and sports infrastructure development.

The Cabinet has approved the continuation of procurement of pulses and oilseeds during the Kharif and Rabi marketing seasons under the Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan (Price Support Scheme – PSS), following the arrangements of the previous year. Under PM-AASHA: Kharif crops: arhar, moong, urad, groundnut, soybean Rabi crops: chana, mustard, masoor are procured at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Procurement through state mandis promotes healthy market competition, enabling farmers to secure better prices for their produce.

The Cabinet approved amendments to the Chhattisgarh Government Rules of Business, including: Merger of the Public Enterprises Department with the Department of Commerce and Industries Integration of the Twenty-Point Programme Implementation Department with the Department of Planning, Economics and Statistics. These reforms aim to strengthen good governance and advance the government’s vision of “Minimum Government, Maximum Governance.”

₹26,200 Crore Guarantee for Smooth Paddy Procurement

To ensure seamless paddy procurement at MSP: The existing government guarantee of ₹15,000 crore, earlier approved for banks and financial institutions for the 2024-25 Kharif marketing year, has been renewed for 2025-26. An additional guarantee of ₹11,200 crore will be provided to the Marketing Federation to ensure uninterrupted procurement operations.

New Provisions Added to State Housing Schemes

The Cabinet approved additional eligibility provisions for the sale of houses and flats under: Deendayal Awas Yojana Atal Awas Yojana Atal Vihar Yojana Nava Raipur Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. If EWS/LIG units remain unsold after three advertisements, they may be sold to beneficiaries from any income group. However, only beneficiaries belonging to the designated income category will be eligible for government subsidy. If individuals or government/semi-government/private institutions submit proposals for bulk purchase after three unsuccessful advertisements, they may be allowed to buy multiple units. Such buyers will not be eligible for government subsidies. The government will widely publicise this decision to ensure maximum beneficiary outreach.
