Congress Finalizes Plan for Assam Election Campaign

State-level preparations to begin from January 21 ahead of assembly polls in April

New Delhi: The Congress party on Friday announced that its state leadership in Assam will begin grassroots-level work from January 21 in preparation for the assembly elections scheduled in April.

After a strategy meeting in New Delhi with party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and other senior leaders, Congress senior observer Bhupesh Baghel said that the party has accelerated preparations for the state elections. Following consultations with the central leadership, the party has finalized its campaign roadmap.

Baghel stated, “Under the plan, the party will hold its first press conference in Guwahati on January 20, followed by multiple organizational meetings across the state from January 21 to 28.”

The strategy meeting was attended by senior observers Baghel, D.K. Shivakumar, and Bandhu Tirkey, along with Congress General Secretary (Organization) K.C. Venugopal, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President Gaurav Gogoi, AICC General Secretary In-Charge Jitendra Singh, and other state leaders. The meeting took place at Kharge’s residence on Rajaji Marg in Delhi.
