Delhi Budget 2025: The BJP government in Delhi, led by CM Rekha Gupta, has presented its first budget, which amounts to Rs 1 lakh crore.

During the Budget presentation in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, CM Gupta highlighted a focus on strong infrastructure and rapid development in the national capital. A significant capital expenditure of Rs 28,000 crore is earmarked for enhancing roads, bridges, drainage, transport and other public services in Delhi. “This budget aims to transform Delhi into a smart and modern city,” CM Gupta said during a Budget speech.

Rekha Gupta, who also holds the finance portfolio, is presenting the budget today, just months after the BJP secured victory in the Delhi Assembly elections. Before heading to the assembly, the chief minister visited the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place, followed by a Cabinet meeting at the Delhi Secretariat.

Delhi Budget 2025: Other Key Announcements

Apart from infrastructure, the government has allocated Rs 51,000 crore for the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, a key poll promise. Under this scheme, every woman in Delhi will receive Rs 2,500 in financial assistance.

Additionally, Rs 100 crore has been earmarked for the launch of 100 Atal Canteens across slum colonies to provide affordable and nutritious meals, marking the birth centenary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
