Divya Khosla Calls Bollywood a “Crocodile-Filled Place,” Says She Won’t Sell Her Soul

Actress Divya Khosla Kumar recently stirred controversy by referring to Bollywood as a “place full of crocodiles.” Earlier, she had accused filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt on Instagram of creating publicity around the “Savi vs Jigra” controversy, an allegation she later denied over the phone.
Bollywood Is Full of “Crocodiles”
During a Reddit AMA on Friday, 5 December, Divya was asked how she maintains her mental health amidst the toxicity of the industry. She replied,
“I feel Bollywood is a place full of crocodiles, and you have to find your own path among them. The most important thing is to stay true to yourself.”
She added, “I will never sell my soul to get work. If it happens, fine; if it doesn’t, that’s fine too. More importantly, when you reach the top, you should have good karma to take along with you.”
Response to Divorce Rumors
When asked if she was divorced, Divya clarified, “No. But the media really wants that to be true.” Divya married Bhushan Kumar on 13 February 2005 at the Vaishno Devi temple in Katra. The couple has a son, born in 2011.
Savi vs Jigra Controversy
The “Savi vs Jigra” controversy arose after Alia Bhatt’s Jigra released in theaters. Divya accused the makers of manipulating box office numbers and copying her film Savi.
-
Savi: Stars Divya Khosla, Harshvardhan Rane, and Anil Kapoor. Divya plays a housewife willing to do anything to free her husband from a UK prison.
-
Jigra: Alia Bhatt plays Satya, who is on a mission to save her younger brother Ankur (Vedang) from a foreign jail.
Divya’s comments highlight her stance on integrity and staying true to oneself in the highly competitive and often toxic Bollywood environment.
