FASTag Annual Pass Launching August 15: Who’s Eligible, How to Buy, and Benefits for Every Highway Driver

The FASTag Annual Pass, launched by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), will be available from August 15, 2025, offering convenience and cost savings for private vehicle owners.

This prepaid pass is designed for those who frequently travel on India’s national highways, reducing traffic congestion and eliminating repeated recharges.

What is the FASTag Annual Pass?

The FASTag Annual Pass is a prepaid toll payment plan for non-commercial vehicles like cars and jeeps. Announced by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, it allows users to pay ₹3,000 upfront for either 200 toll transactions or one year of validity from activation – whichever comes first.

This plan works with your existing FASTag account and helps streamline toll payments, ensuring faster, cashless, and contactless travel.

FASTag Annual Pass Eligibility

To qualify for the FASTag Annual Pass, you must meet these criteria:

Existing FASTag must be active and not blacklisted.

Vehicle Registration Number (VRN) should be linked to your FASTag account.

Applicable only for private vehicles (cars, jeeps).

Commercial vehicles and accounts flagged for fraud are not eligible.

How to Buy the FASTag Annual Pass

Steps:

Log in using your registered mobile number or vehicle details.

Verify eligibility.

Pay ₹3,000 via UPI, net banking, or cards.

Receive SMS confirmation of activation (fixed for August 15, 2025).

Usage and Validity

From August 15, 2025, the pass allows:

200 toll crossings or 12 months of usage (whichever comes first).

Works on NHAI and MoRTH national highways.

Reverts to normal pay-per-use mode after limits are reached.

Limitations

Non-transferable – valid only for the registered vehicle.

No refunds once purchased.

Not valid for state highways not covered under FASTag.

No auto-renewal – must be repurchased manually.
