Hyundai Creta-rival, Renault Triber-based MPV from Nissan arriving in FY26

Hyundai Creta-rival: Nissan Motor India will launch two new products in the country in FY26. While one will be a mid-size SUV, which will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, among others, the other will be a Renault Triber-based MPV.
The mid-size SUV will be a 5-seater model with its design inspired by that of the new Nissan Patrol. The MPV will be a 7-seater model catering to the masses.
The 7-seater MPV will be launched before December. It will be followed by the 5-seater mid-size SUV. Nissan plans to have four models in its portfolio by the end of FY26, the other two being the Nissan Magnite and the flagship Nissan X-Trail.
Hyundai Creta-rival:After the two new models, Nissan will introduce an affordable electric vehicle (EV) and a 7-seater SUV in India.
The announcements with regard to the future India line-up were made at Nissan’s Global Product Showcase event held in Yokohama, Japan.
In an official statement, Nissan said that it aims to achieve overall volumes (domestic + export) of 1,00,000 units from India.
Nissan MPV teaserBoth upcoming models (5-seater mid-size SUV and 7-seater MPV) will be locally manufactured at Nissan’s Alliance JV plant in Chennai and cater to both domestic and international markets.
After the Magnite, the new 5-seater mid-size SUV will be the second Nissan model from the Chennai plant to follow the ‘One Car, One World’ strategy.
