iPhone 17, 17 Air, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max CAD renders leaked

Apple’s iPhone 17 lineup, expected to launch in September 2025, is looking to be one of the most unusual launches by the company in recent years, or at least, according to the latest leak.

The latest image, shared by well-known leaker Majin Bu, reveals major design changes across the range, though the strange part – not all models will get the same treatment. The leak also coincides with the fact that all the iPhone 17 models are said to feature rear camera modules in a raised island of some sort or the other.

Instead of the current squarish camera bump, these models will feature a large rectangular camera island, making them instantly recognisable. The leaks also suggest that the Pro models might become more compact, a surprising move given that the iPhone 16 Pro recently saw a slight increase in display size.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Air – the rumoured slim variant which is set to replace the Plus model – is expected to sport a single rear camera housed in a sleek camera strip. This bar-style camera module – if you may call it – is somewhat similar to what we have already seen on Google Pixel phones over the years.

However, the standard iPhone 17 might not join the redesign party. According to the leak, it will stick closely to the design of the iPhone 16, retaining the familiar vertical camera bump. This decision could make it the odd one out in the lineup, especially when compared to the more prominent changes on the Pro and Air models.

Under the hood, the standard iPhone 17 and 17 Air are expected to be powered by Apple’s next-generation 3nm A19 chipset, while the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max could feature the superior A19 Pro SoC. The Pro models might also feature 48-megapixel cameras across the board, meaning all four lenses – front and back – could have the same 48-megapixel resolution.

Another exciting possibility is the introduction of ProMotion aka 120Hz displays for the standard iPhone 17 and 17 Air models, a feature currently reserved for the Pro lineup. Additionally, Apple is reportedly testing reverse wireless charging for the Pro models, allowing users to charge accessories like AirPods by placing them on the back of the phone.

Apart from this, word on the street suggests that all iPhone 17 devices will feature an aluminium build, thus ditching the use of titanium material in the build for the Pro models.
