Navratri Yoga Tips: Suffering from Constipation During Fasting? These Yoga Poses Can Help
Simple Asanas to Keep Your Digestion Healthy During Navratri

Navratri Yoga Tips: During the Navratri fast, changes in diet often lead to digestive issues like constipation. Including yoga in your daily routine can help prevent this problem. Along with yoga, make sure to drink sufficient water, consume coconut water, and eat fiber-rich fruits. A combination of yoga and a balanced fasting diet makes your fast not only spiritually fulfilling but also physically healthy. Here are some effective yoga poses that can help those observing the fast.
Pavanamuktasana (Wind-Relieving Pose)
This pose provides relief from gas and constipation. It helps release trapped gas and improves bowel movement.
Lie flat on your back, bend your knees, and hug them close to your chest with both hands. Inhale and exhale deeply while holding the position. This asana massages the intestines and makes bowel movements easier and more natural.
Ardha Matsyendrasana (Half Spinal Twist Pose)
This twisting pose activates the digestive system and boosts metabolism.
Sit on the floor with one leg extended straight. Bend the other leg and place it outside the opposite knee. Twist your upper body and hold the bent knee with the opposite hand. This asana enhances digestion, reduces constipation and acidity, and stimulates abdominal organs.
Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend)
Sit with your legs stretched out straight. Extend your arms forward to hold your toes and try to bring your head toward your knees.
This pose stimulates the intestines and helps relieve constipation. It also reduces fatigue and sluggishness that can occur during fasting.
Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose)
Bhujangasana strengthens the abdominal muscles and improves blood circulation in the intestines.
Lie on your stomach and lift your chest upward using your hands while controlling your breathing. This pose helps relieve constipation, gas, and indigestion.
Vajrasana (Thunderbolt Pose)
This is the only yoga pose that can be performed immediately after eating.
During fasting, whenever you consume fruits or light meals, sit in Vajrasana for a few minutes afterward. It improves digestion and reduces the chances of constipation.
