Pakistan put Salman Khan on terror watchlist? Claim vs fact

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has become the focus of a major controversy after reports emerged claiming that Pakistan has placed him on its terror watchlist following his remarks on Balochistan during an address at the Riyadh Forum.
The actor’s comments, in which he reportedly mentioned Balochistan separately have sparked outrage.
Several reports circulating online claim that the Government of Balochistan has added Salaman Khan’s name to the country’s ‘Fourth Schedule’ under the Anti-Terrorism Act (1997), a classification used to monitor individuals suspected of links to extremist or banned organisations. Those placed under it face strict surveillance, restrictions on movement and potential legal action.
Meanwhile, a purported notification dated October 16, 2025 has been circulating online, claiming that Khan was added to the list for the reason “Azad Balochistan Facilitator”, though the document’s authenticity remains unverified. Furthermore, no credible Pakistani media outlet has reported or confirmed the development.
The controversy erupted after Salman Khan, while addressing an audience in Riyadh, reportedly mentioned Balochistan as a separate entity.
“Right now, if you make a Hindi film and release it in Saudi Arabia, it will be a superhit. If you make a Tamil, Telugu, or Malayali film, it will do hundreds of crores in business because so many people from other countries have come here. There are people from Balochistan, there are people from Afghanistan, there are people from Pakistan everyone is working here,” Khan had said at the Riyadh Forum, where he appeared alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan to discuss the growing influence of Indian cinema in the Middle East.
Theactor’s remarks were met with outrage on social media. Soon after the event, a video clip of Salman Khan’s remarks began circulating online, quickly drawing widespread attention. While some viewers questioned the intent behind his statement, others interpreted his choice of words.
Journalist Smita Prakash commented on X, “I don’t know if it was slip of tongue, but this is amazing! Salman Khan separates ‘people of Balochistan’ from ‘people of Pakistan’.”
Another user on X wrote, “Slip of tongue from Salman Khan or lack of knowledge or deliberate hint that Balochistan is ‘independent’? That too with Aamir Khan & SRK on dias?”
