PM Modi Congratulates Opposition MPs in Operation Sindoor Delegation, Then Adds a Jibe: Watch

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated members of the Opposition who were part of India’s diplomatic outreach following Operation Sindoor.

However, what can be called a moment of blended statesmanship with sharp political messaging, the praise came laced with a jibe.

“Dal hit mein humara mann mile na mile, desh hit mein humare mann milne chahiye (We may not se eye to eye when it comes to party interests, but for the nation, out hearts must come together),” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

“The country saw a ‘Sindoor Spirit’ as our representatives went to tell the world about India’s side. I congratulate each one of them,” the Prime Minister said.

“…Those who claim to be the big leaders of Congress are pained by the fact that India’s position was put forth before the world. That might be the reason a few of their leaders are not even allowed to speak in the House,” says Prime Minister Modi said while responding to the two-day debate on the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor.

PM Modi’s remarks came in an apparent reference to stalwart Congress leaders like Shashi Tharoor and Manish Tewari, who were part of India’s diplomatic outreach after Operation Sindoor, not being part of the Parliament debate.
