Ravindra Jadeja Pokes Fun At Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul During India vs Australia Semifinal | Video

Ravindra Jadeja’s fast-paced approach to spin bowling is well known, often catching opposition batters off-guard as he rushes through his overs in record time.
However, during India’s ICC Champions Trophy semi-final against Australia in Dubai on Tuesday, the left-arm spinner ended up surprising not just the batters but also his own captain, Rohit Sharma, and wicketkeeper KL Rahul.
The moment unfolded in the middle of one of Jadeja’s overs when Rohit paused to discuss field placements with Rahul. With the ball gripping slightly, the Indian skipper contemplated placing a first slip, hoping to capitalize on any potential turn. However, Rahul was quick to dismiss the idea, suggesting that there wasn’t much spin on offer.
Before the conversation could go any further, Jadeja humourously stepped in to ask if he can complete the over amidst their planning.
Check out the conversation here:
KL Rahul: Nahi jaa raha itna (It’s not turning much).
Rohit Sharma from cover: Bhai, teen ball hain. Slip le le. Kya pata nikal jaaye. (Take a slip. Three balls are left. One may spin).
KL Rahul to Rohit: Ek ball ghooma hai ab tak, bas (Only one ball has turned thus far).
Ravindra Jadeja: Aap dono baatein karo, main tab tak teen ball daal deta hu. (You guys keep talking, and in the meantime, I’ll bowl the remaining three deliveries).
Jadeja’s spell proved crucial as he broke a key partnership, trapping Marnus Labuschagne lbw before dismissing Josh Inglis. Finishing with 2/40, he was India’s second-best wicket-taker behind Mohammed Shami. With his sharp presence of mind and infectious energy, Jadeja once again proved why he is a vital asset to the Indian team.
“The wicket was better than the last game, not much spin. We need to start well. If we play sensible cricket in the first 10 overs, then there won’t be any issues. Smith and Labuschagne were batting nicely, and I tried to attack the stumps. Luckily, we were able to contain the runs and picked a few wickets as well,” said Jadeja after Australia were bundled for 264 before India romped home to a four-wicket win.
