South Africa Women to Host India for Five T20Is in April Ahead of 2026 World Cup
The Proteas Women aim to test their combination and sharpen strategies against the world champions before the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

Johannesburg: Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Tuesday announced that the South Africa Women’s team will host India Women for a five-match T20I series from 17 to 27 April, taking place across Durban, Johannesburg, and Benoni.
The T20I series will kick off with two matches at Kingsmead Stadium, Durban on 17 and 19 April, before moving to Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg for games on 22 and 25 April. The series will conclude with the fifth and final T20I at Willowmoore Park, Benoni on 27 April.
This series will be the Proteas Women’s last official assignment before the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which begins on 12 June in England. South Africa has been placed in Group 1 alongside Australia, Pakistan, India, and two qualifiers for the global tournament.
CSA National Teams and High-Performance Director Inok Enqwe said, “Facing a quality side like India so close to the World Cup is exactly what the Proteas Women need at this stage. It gives them the opportunity to test themselves against top-level opposition, fine-tune combinations, and ensure they can execute their plans under pressure. This series will play a key role in improving the team’s preparation ahead of the T20 World Cup.”
This series also marks the first international meeting between the two sides since India defeated Laura Wolvaardt-led South Africa by 52 runs in the ODI World Cup final in November 2025. Harmanpreet Kaur and her team made history by claiming their first ICC silverware, ending years of anticipation.
