Tamil Nadu SI Exam:The Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) has invited applications for posts of Sub-Inspectors of Police (Taluk and Armed Reserve).

The department released the notification on April 4 and the commencement of the online application started on April 7. The last date for submitting applications is on May 3.

There are 1299 vacancies out of which 654 are for men while 279 is for women for the Sub Inspectors positions in Taluks. As far as the the openings for the Armed Forces are concerned, 255 posts are for men and 115 is for women. In total, 909 positions are in the offing for men and 390 are dedicated for women.

Tamil Nadu SI Exam:Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the TNUSRB SI Recruitment 2025, candidates must meet specific eligibility requirements:

1. Educational Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree from a UGC-recognized university.

2. Age Limit

General Category: 20 to 30 years (as of July 1, 2025).

Backward Classes (BC): Up to 32 years.

SC/ST/Transgender: Up to 35 years.

Destitute Widow: Up to 37 years.

Ex-Servicemen: Up to 47 years.

Tamil Nadu SI Exam:3. Physical Fitness Standards

Candidates must pass the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which assess height, chest measurements, running ability, and endurance.

Salary and Benefits

₹36,900 to ₹1,16,600 per month. Additional benefits include:

Tamil Nadu SI Exam:Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of three main stages:

1. Written Examination

Part I: Tamil Language Eligibility Test (100 marks, qualifying in nature).

Part II: Main Written Exam (100 marks) covering General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, and Numerical Ability.

2. Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidates clearing the written test undergo physical assessments to ensure they meet fitness standards.

3. Viva-Voce (Interview Round)

Shortlisted candidates face a personal interview to evaluate their communication skills and overall suitability.
