Telangana: Malreddy Rangareddy continues to lobby for cabinet berth, says prepared to quit
The Ibrahimpatnam MLA has been insisting that one MLA from erstwhile Rangareddy district should be accommodated in the Cabinet

Telangana: Intensifying the demand for a berth in cabinet, Ibrahimpatnam MLA Malreddy Rangareddy said he was prepared to quit and get another person elected from the constituency, if caste and social equations was a hurdle.
The Ibrahimpatnam MLA along with a few other MLAs from erstwhile Rangareddy district has been demanding the Congress high command for a berth in the cabinet. To this effect, the MLAs met AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge, AICC general secretary KC Venugopal and others in New Delhi.
Though, Malreddy Rangareddy is assuring to adhere to the party’s decision, he has been insisting that one MLA from erstwhile Rangareddy district should be accommodated in the cabinet.
In the past, there used to be six Ministers from Rangareddy and Greater Hyderabad region. However, there was barely one Minister from the region, he has been arguing.
“If caste and social equations is a hurdle to accommodate one MLA from Rangareddy, I prepared to sacrifice and get another person from any caste and community elected from the constituency,” Malreddy Rangareddy said in videos that are going viral on social media platforms.
The party high command should understand our issues, especially the aspirations of people from erstwhile Rangareddy. Local body elections were fast approaching and many aspects need to be considered, he said.
This is not the first instance when the Ibrahimpatnam MLA made his intentions clear to the party high command. Ever since the exercise for finalizing the candidates for cabinet expansion commenced in the party, he has been vocal about his candidature.
Last month, Malreddy Ranga Reddy insisted that the State leadership should consider his service and offer him a cabinet berth. He also raised objections over turncoats being given priority in offering posts and positions and loyalists getting a raw deal.
