The Sri Lankan Navy reportedly surrounded the fishermen at the location, apprehending all 14 individuals. The seized boats belonged to Michael Raj and Nijo, both residents of Rameswaram.Following their detention, the fishermen and the boats were taken to the Sri Lankan Navy camp at Talaimannar for further investigation. Officials stated that after the enquiry, the fishermen would be handed over to the Mannar Fisheries Department authorities.
