The Diplomat actor John Abraham claims he has ‘never felt safer’ in India: Maybe because I’m minority

actor John Abraham, who is making headlines for his movie The Diplomat, has made bold claims in a new interview. The actor claims that he has ‘never felt safer’ in India. This comes in contrast to the events that have occurred in the recent India. From rising (read repeated) number of cases against women to caste-based attacks, new India has made many people feel anything but safe. John believes it is because he is minority that he remains unaffected by any such incidents.actor John Abraham

John Abraham has ‘never felt safer’ in India

During an interview with Times Now, John Abraham claimed that he has ‘never felt safer’ in his country. He specifically pointed out that his mother is a Zorastrian (Parsi-Irani) and father a Syrian Christian. The actor was asked about ‘minorities not feeling safe in India,’ but John is not the first target of groups for an obvious reason – his name is not threatening to them for now. If proven Irani, he is likely to be threatened just like others in India (Iran, in the mind of these groups, is directly linked to Islam). Furthermore, he does not have a name that is common among Muslims (which many Parsi-Irani origins have).

“Safe probably because I’m an actor,” says John Abraham

“Probably because I’m an actor, people would argue and say, Hey, listen, listen. You’re an actor. You know, people would probably like you or dislike you for other reasons. But I’m a minority,” the actor stressed. It is to be noted that both Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan are actors and minority as compared to Hindus in India. Nonetheless, they were threatened as their houses were attacked. Whether planted or not, it happened. And if there were reports that a Bollywood superstar like Shah Rukh Khan had to increase security, the threat is likely to be real. So, claiming that actors are safe doesn’t sound so smart, does it, John?actor John Abraham

John Abraham not a woman to comment on the matter

The most threat in modern India is to women. This has been proven as the state which felt the safest to Indian women was the centre of attention and continues being so for its continuous cases in the very location where the first incident took place. So, it definitely looks like the question was posed to the wrong gender, caste and professional. And as expected, privilege spoke. Everybody who have faced the threat (dead or alive) were proud of their nation but are awaiting true justice and a chance to actually see a safer India.actor John Abraham
