Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated on Sunday that several states are likely to receive rainfall in the upcoming few days, as the monsoon arrived in Kerala on Saturday.
The weather department further stated that the monsoon arrived in Maharashtra on Sunday, leading to heavy rainfall in Mumbai and nearby regions. Apart from this, Delhi, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu also received heavy rainfall on Saturday, leading to waterlogging and power outages in several key regions. The IMD has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
Weather Update:Maharashtra To Receive Heavy Rain
The weather department informed that Maharashtra’s capital, Mumbai, received heavy rains late Sunday night and in the early hours of Monday. It stated that slow vehicular movement was reported from several sites in the city due to waterlogging after a few hours of rain. The IMD has also stated that Mumbai and multiple districts of the state are expected to witness rainfall on Monday and in the upcoming few days.
Weather Update:Light Rain Expected In Delhi-NCR
The weather department further stated that residents of Delhi-NCR are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall on Monday. It further clarified that along with rainfall, the city is also likely to receive thunderstorms and gusty winds. The national capital witnessed heavy rainfall, along with thunderstorms on Saturday night, leading to the destruction of several infrastructures and disruptions in flight operations. The IGI Airport had informed that more than 270 flights were affected due to the storm on Saturday night.
Weather Update:Heavy Rain Likely In Meghalaya, Kerala
The India Meteorological Department has also clarified that multiple northeastern states, including Assam, Meghalaya, and Manipur,, are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall between May 25 and May 27. Apart from this, the intensity of the rainfall is expected to increase after May 28. Apart from this, rainfall is also expected in southern states, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
