From Fawad Khan To Mawra Hocane: Pakistani Actors Condemn Pahalgam Attack, Mahira Khan Deletes Post Later

A deadly terrorist attack took place on April 22 in Pahalgam, a tourist spot in South Kashmir. At least 26 people lost their lives, and more than 10 others were injured.

Most of the victims were tourists, including some honeymooners. Reports say the attackers asked the religion of the victims before shooting them.

The brutal attack has shocked people across the world. Many Indian and Pakistani celebrities took to social media to express their sadness and offer condolences to the victims’ families.

Among them was Pakistani actor Mahira Khan, who is known in India for starring alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the film Raees. On April 24, at around 9 pm, she posted a message on her Instagram story. She wrote, “Violence anywhere in the world, in any shape or form is an act of mere cowardice. My condolences to all those affected by the attack in Pahalgam.. #pahalgamattack.”

However, within a few hours, Mahira deleted the post. A screenshot of the deleted story has since gone viral, with many people discussing why she chose to remove it.

Actor Fawad Khan, who is also facing calls to boycott his upcoming Bollywood film Abir Gulaal, shared his thoughts on the same day. He posted,”Deeply saddened to hear the news of the heinous attack in Pahalgam. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this horrifying incident, and we pray for strength and healing for their families in this difficult time.”

Another popular actor from Pakistan, Hania Aamir, also expressed her emotions. She wrote,”Tragedy anywhere is a tragedy for all of us. My heart is with the innocent lives affected by the recent events. In pain, in grief, and in hope-we are one. When innocent lives are lost, the pain is not theirs alone-it belongs to all of us. No matter where we come from, grief speaks the same language. May we choose humanity, always.”

Other well-known Pakistani stars like Farhan Saeed reacted to the incident and wrote, “Heartfelt condolences for Pahalgam victims and their families.”

Danish Taimoor said, “Deeply saddened by the news from PAHALGAM. My condolences go out to the families affected by the tragedy in Pahalgam. May healing and peace come swiftly.” Danish’s wife Ayeza also posted a picture of the sky with a heartbroken emoji.

Actress Mawra Hocane, who worked in the Bollywood film Sanam Teri Kasam earlier, also reacted to the incident and shared, “My deepest condolences to the affected families… An act of terrorism against one is terrorism against all…What’s happening to the world?”

Actor Usama Khan also took to X, formerly known as Twitter and wrote, “Heartfelt condolences to the families & loved ones of the #PahalgamAttack victims. May they find strength during this difficult time. Terrorism is condemnable, regardless of where it occurs, whether in Pakistan, India, or anywhere else. We should stand against such senseless violence.”

The Pahalgam attack is one of the deadliest in the recent history of Jammu and Kashmir. While many are showing support and unity, some online users are questioning Mahira Khan’s decision to delete her post after showing solidarity.The entire region remains in mourning, and people continue to demand justice for the victims of this tragic act of violence.
