Char Dham Yatra 2025: Badrinath Dham Opens With Indian Army Band And Floral Ceremony

The sacred portals of Shri Badrinath Dham, one of the four revered shrines of the Char Dham Yatra, were opened to devotees at 6 am on Sunday, marking a spiritually charged moment in the ongoing Char Dham Yatra 2025. The event was highlighted by a ceremonial shower of flower petals and the resonating tunes of devotional music performed by the Indian Army’s Garhwal Rifles band, as chants of “Jai Badri Vishal” echoed through the air.
Badrinath Dham, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, was beautifully decorated with 40 quintals of flowers, creating a divine atmosphere for the thousands of pilgrims gathered to witness the auspicious occasion. As the temple gates opened, the environment was filled with devotion and joy, enhancing the spiritual energy of the event.

With this, the Char Dham Yatra 2025 has officially entered full swing. The pilgrimage began on April 30 with the ceremonial opening of the Yamunotri and Gangotri shrines on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, followed by the opening of Kedarnath’s doors on May 2. The opening of Badrinath on May 4 completes the ceremonial initiation of the full Char Dham circuit for this year.
On the occasion, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj expressed the joy of the moment, stating, “Today the whole country is happy. Devotees should arrive in large numbers to offer their prayers at the Dham. Spiritual peace and bliss are found here.”

Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, also went to the shrine, said prayers, and spoke with locals and pilgrims. “Today is a very auspicious day as the doors of Lord Badri Vishal open,” he told the journalists. I extend a hearty welcome to every pilgrim in this sacred region of Uttarakhand and offer up prayers for a safe and easy journey. For the pilgrimage, all required preparations have been undertaken.

CM Dhami went on to say that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading the development efforts in the Badrinath area. “We asked the Prime Minister and the Home Minister yesterday for assistance with Joshimath’s security and restoration efforts.

Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath are the four sacred locations visited during the Char Dham Yatra, a major Hindu pilgrimage. In the upcoming months, thousands of devotees are anticipated to begin this spiritual journey at the four shrines that are currently open.
