DMK Will Suffer Unimaginable Defeat In 2026: Vijay Slams TN Govt Over Ajith’s Custodial Death

DMK Will Suffer Unimaginable Defeat In 2026:Actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founder Thalapathy Vijay has intensified pressure on the DMK government, urging the immediate formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT), directly supervised by the High Court, to probe the alleged custodial death of Ajith Kumar in Sivaganga district.

This demand comes amidst widespread condemnation from opposition parties, including the AIADMK and BJP, following the death of the 27-year-old security guard during a police inquiry.

In a scathing statement, Vijay asserted that the Ajith Kumar case “has raised numerous questions in the minds of the public,” starkly highlighting the “cruel, utterly inhumane, and unjust” conduct of the Tamil Nadu Police Department, which operates under the direct supervision of Home Minister MK Stalin.

He accused the state government of initially attempting to shield the culprits, only taking action after significant pressure from political parties like the TVK and the intervention of the Madurai Bench of the High Court.

Vijay’s statement further questioned the government’s handling of previous custodial death cases, demanding to know if murder charges have been filed against all accused and if justice has been delivered. He pointed out that the Madurai Bench of the High Court’s expressed dissatisfaction over 24 custodial deaths in the past four years, urging Home Minister MK Stalin to immediately release a white paper detailing these incidents.

Emphasizing the need for an impartial investigation in the Ajith Kumar case, given that police personnel are themselves the accused, Vijay called for an SIT akin to the one formed for the Anna University student sexual assault case, which led to a swift judgment.

Issuing a stern warning, Vijay demanded that Chief Minister MK Stalin, who hold the home portfolio, immediately assure the people of Tamil Nadu that such horrific incidents will not recur. He concluded with a potent threat for the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections: “If not, I solemnly warn that in the 2026 Assembly elections, the people will gift the anarchic regime led by MK Stalin, which oppresses ordinary citizens through the abuse of power, a defeat so unprecedented that the DMK could not even imagine it in Tamil Nadu’s history.”
