After Casting His Vote in BMC Elections, Akshay Kumar Appeals: “Be Mumbai’s True Hero – Come Forward and Vote”

Mumbai: As voting continues for 29 municipal corporations in Maharashtra on Thursday, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar exercised his franchise and urged citizens to actively participate in the democratic process. Dressed in a simple blue shirt and trousers, Akshay appeared calm and composed, emphasizing the responsibility of every Indian to vote.

Speaking to the media after casting his vote, he said, “Today is the BMC voting day, and it is very important for our daily lives. Today, the remote control is in our hands – we decide who runs the city.” He appealed to all residents of Mumbai to step out and cast their votes without fail.

Highlighting common civic issues, Akshay added, “We often complain about irregular water supply, power outages, garbage on roads, and potholes. But now is the time not to complain, but to take responsibility. If we want the right administration, we must vote for it.”

He concluded with a direct message to Mumbaikars: “If you want to be the real hero of Mumbai, it’s not about slogans or dialogues – come and vote.

This year, 15,908 candidates are contesting for 2,869 seats across Maharashtra, with over 3.48 crore voters exercising their rights at 39,092 polling stations. As one of India’s largest municipal bodies, the BMC elections directly influence Mumbai’s development and governance, making every vote crucial.
