Amit Shah Accuses TMC of Insulting the President
Home Minister slams West Bengal government over alleged protocol violation

West Bengal: Union Home Minister Amit Shah strongly criticized the government of Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal, accusing the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) of insulting the President and ignoring official protocol.
In a post on the social media platform X (Twitter), Shah said that the TMC had set a new record with its “anarchic behavior.” He alleged that the party had disrespected Droupadi Murmu, the President of India, and blatantly ignored established protocol.
The Home Minister stated that the incident exposes the disorder and corruption prevailing in the state government. According to him, such actions not only violate the constitutional rights of citizens but also reflect an authoritarian attitude that fails to respect even the highest constitutional office of the country.
Shah further emphasized that insulting the President at an event organized by tribal communities is an insult to the nation and to the core values of India’s constitutional democracy. He added that every citizen who believes in democracy has been deeply hurt and disturbed by the incident.
With Shah’s remarks, political tensions between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the All India Trinamool Congress in West Bengal have intensified further, fueling a growing political debate over constitutional propriety and governance in the state.
