‘Bhature pizza’ from Delhi street shocks food lovers online

India’s love for food experiments has once again set social media buzzing, after a street vendor in Delhi combined two iconic dishes — chole bhature and pizza — into a single fusion creation now being called ‘Bhature Pizza’ .
The viral video, reportedly shot near the GTB Nagar Metro Station, shows a vendor transforming a bhatura into a pizza base. Instead of chole, the bhatura is layered with tomato sauce, chopped onions, capsicum, sweet corn and shredded paneer.
The vendor then adds a generous layer of grated cheese, finishes it with tandoori sauce and mayonnaise, and places it in an oven. After baking, the bhatura resembles a pizza and is sliced into pieces.
For the final touch, chilli flakes and oregano are sprinkled on top before serving, accompanied by sachets of packaged red sauce. A caption beside the stall simply reads: ‘Chole Bhature Pizza.’
As expected, the unusual combination has divided the internet. While some viewers watched out of curiosity, many reacted with confusion and outrage.
One user commented sarcastically, ‘You should have added chole also. Then it would at least make sense.’
Another wrote, ‘Slowly, I will stop eating every food.’
‘God won’t forgive you, brother,’ said one angry viewer.
‘Both India and Italy will curse you,’ joked another.
Despite the criticism, the video has already crossed 5 million views, proving that controversial food mash-ups continue to grab attention.
Delhi’s street food culture is known for its creativity, often blending global flavours with Indian favourites. From momos stuffed with butter chicken to Maggi-based experiments, fusion dishes frequently go viral — whether they are celebrated or condemned.
Food enthusiasts note that while innovation keeps street food exciting, tampering with beloved classics like chole bhature often triggers strong emotional reactions.
Love it or hate it, one thing is certain — when Indian street food meets global flavours, the internet is always watching, judging, and sharing
