BREAKING: Firing at Hospital Emergency Gate in Bhopal Sparks Panic
Attackers chase injured man to Hamidia Hospital after shooting at his house; bullets hit emergency gate glass as police launch manhunt.

Bhopal: A shocking incident of gunfire created panic in Bhopal on Saturday morning after shots were fired at the emergency gate of Hamidia Hospital.
According to reports, the incident began due to an old rivalry. A group of attackers allegedly stormed into the house of Lallu Rais in the Ashoka Garden area and fired 8–9 rounds of bullets early in the morning.
During the attack, Rais’s son Imran Rais was injured after being shot in the leg. His family rushed him to Hamidia Hospital for treatment. However, the attackers reportedly followed them to the hospital.
Firing at Hospital Gate
Witnesses said that the main accused Shadab Gate along with his associates reached the hospital and opened fire near the emergency gate. One of the bullets struck the glass at the hospital entrance.
Fortunately, a security guard present at the spot narrowly escaped the gunfire. The attackers fled the scene immediately after carrying out the firing.
Police Launch Investigation
After receiving information about the incident, teams from Kohefiza Police Station and Teela Jamalpura Police Station rushed to the spot and began an investigation.
Initial reports suggest that 7 to 8 attackers were involved in the incident. They allegedly reached Rais’s house around 5:30 a.m. and started firing indiscriminately. Hearing the gunshots, Imran came outside and was shot in the leg.
According to officials from Bhopal Police, the prime accused Shadab Gate is a known criminal with a long history of involvement in illegal activities. Police have launched a search operation to arrest all the accused.
Panic in Hospital and Local Area
The firing at the hospital triggered panic among patients, attendants, and medical staff inside the premises. Hospital authorities immediately increased security and alerted police to tighten surveillance in the surrounding area.
Thanks to the quick response of security personnel and hospital staff, no additional injuries were reported.
Old Rivalry Behind the Attack
Police officials said that the conflict between Lallu Rais and Shadab Gate is believed to be the result of a long-standing personal rivalry that has led to several clashes in the past.
The latest attack, followed by firing at a hospital, has raised serious concerns about rising crime and the growing audacity of criminals in Bhopal. Residents expressed fear, saying that firing at a sensitive place like a hospital is deeply alarming.
Administration Responds
Local authorities conducted a police flag march in the area to reassure residents and maintain law and order. Police from Kohefiza and Teela Jamalpura stations have intensified patrols and are collecting information from nearby residents.
Officials said that CCTV footage and other evidence are being examined, and the accused will soon be identified and arrested.
Meanwhile, Imran Rais is reported to be in stable condition, though doctors are continuing treatment for the bullet injury in his leg.
The incident has once again raised questions about law and order in the state capital, as criminals appear increasingly bold, even carrying out attacks at public and sensitive locations. Police have assured that strict action will be taken and no criminal will be spared.
