BYD Launches SEALION 7 Electric SUV in India, Prices Start at Rs 48.9 Lakh
NEW DELHI – BYD India has announced the pricing for its new electric SUV, the SEALION 7, starting at Rs 48.9 lakh. Unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in January, the SEALION 7 has already garnered over 1,000 bookings within a month.The SEALION 7 is offered in two variants, both equipped with BYD’s Blade Battery technology:
SEALION 7 Premium: Rs 48.9 lakh (82.56 kWh battery, 230 kW power, 380 Nm torque, 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, 567 km range (NEDC))
SEALION 7 Performance: Rs 54.9 lakh (82.56 kWh battery, 390 kW power, 690 Nm torque, 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, 542 km range (NEDC))
While the initial promotional booking period has ended, customers can still reserve a SEALION 7 for Rs 70,000. Deliveries are slated to begin in mid-March 2025.
Designed by Wolfgang Egger, the SEALION 7 features the “OCEAN X” front design, a panoramic glass roof, and a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen. The interior boasts Nappa leather seats, 128-color ambient lighting, and a 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system. Key features include Intelligence Torque Adaption Control (iTAC), Driver Fatigue Monitoring, 11 airbags, VTOL (Vehicle-to-Load) capability, a heads-up display, a 50W wireless charger, and an electric tailgate.
BYD India is expanding its reach, now with 40 dealerships nationwide. Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles at BYD India, highlighted the strong response to the SEALION 7 and the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility in India. The SEALION 7 is expected to compete with other premium electric SUVs in the Indian market.
