This announcement was made during a meeting where Fadnavis reviewed the 100-day action plans for the transport, ports, and state airport authority departments.According to a release, Fadnavis emphasised enforcing policies to scrap all vehicles over 15 years old, both public and private. This includes scrapping over 13,000 outdated government vehicles and replacing or retrofitting the State Transport Corporation’s old buses with LNG and CNG to improve performance and reduce emissions. He also mentioned plans for introducing the state’s electric vehicle (EV) policy, expected to be released within the next three years.CM Fadnavis
This policy is likely to include incentives for EV adoption and the development of charging infrastructure to further improve urban mobility. Fadnavis also tasked the transport department with introducing bike taxis and maxi cab services, aiming to provide commuters with more budget-friendly transportation options. The release further states that Fadnavis acknowledged the criticality of safety, particularly in geographically challenging areas, by underscoring the need for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure bus safety, especially in ghat regions prone to accidents.Israeli military strikes 40 sites in Gaza, resulting in ‘dozens of’ casualties
