Flipkart Down: Users Face Shopping Disruptions Amid Technical Glitch

Website Shows Error Messages as Downdetector Confirms Spike in Complaints

Flipkart Down: India’s leading e-commerce platform Flipkart experienced a technical outage on Tuesday around 5 PM, leaving users unable to complete online purchases. Customers attempting to open the website were greeted with an error message along with a prompt to restart the site.

Outage tracking platform Downdetector also confirmed that Flipkart was facing downtime during the period.

Website Most Affected

According to Downdetector, more than 200 complaints were registered regarding Flipkart’s downtime on Tuesday, with the highest number of reports recorded around 5 PM.

  • 87% of users reported issues with the website

  • 11% faced problems on the mobile app

  • 2% experienced difficulties accessing product pages

The disruption caused inconvenience to shoppers who were browsing or attempting to make purchases during peak evening hours.

Similar Issues During Big Billion Days 2025

This is not the first time Flipkart has experienced such problems. During the launch of the Big Billion Days 2025 sale, the platform briefly went down due to an overwhelming surge in traffic.

As soon as the sale went live at midnight, a massive number of customers logged into the app and website simultaneously. The sudden spike in traffic reportedly overloaded the servers, resulting in error screens and login failures for many users.

While services are typically restored within a short period, repeated outages during high-traffic events highlight the challenges e-commerce platforms face in handling peak demand.
