Honda Cars India Reports 20% Sales Growth in 2024, Sets Export Record
New Delhi – Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) achieved a 20% year-over-year sales increase in 2024, selling 131,871 units compared to 110,143 in 2023. This growth was driven by a significant surge in exports, reaching an all-time high of 63,221 units.
Domestic sales for the year reached 68,650 units. December 2024 saw strong sales with 9,460 units sold, including 5,603 in the domestic market and 3,857 units exported.
Key Growth Drivers
The Honda Elevate mid-size SUV played a crucial role in boosting exports.
Kunal Behl, Vice President of Marketing & Sales at HCIL, commented, “Despite domestic challenges, HCIL achieved remarkable growth, solidifying India’s importance as a key manufacturing hub for Honda globally. The recent launch of the all-new 3rd Gen Amaze has been well-received, and we anticipate strong deliveries in 2025.”
Comparison with 2023
In 2023, HCIL sold 84,289 units domestically and exported 25,854 units. December 2023 sales totaled 7,902 units, comprising 5,603 domestic sales and 3,749 exports.
Outlook for 2025
With the recent Amaze launch and a strong commitment to the Indian market, HCIL is optimistic about future growth.
