iQoo 12 to get four generations of Android update, confirms company ahead of Neo 10R launch

IQoo has announced an update to its software support policy for the iQoo 12, extending the duration of updates beyond its original schedule.

The smartphone will now receive four years of FunTouch OS updates and five years of security patches, instead of the initially promised three years of OS updates. This change extends the device’s support period to 2028.

Software update details

At launch, iQoo 12 was set to receive FunTouch OS updates until 2027, with security patches also planned for five years. With this revision, users will receive one additional year of major software updates. The announcement aligns iQoo 12 with the upcoming iQoo 13 in terms of update duration. iQoo shared that this extension aims to improve longevity, performance, and security for users.

iQoo 12 features and pricing

The iQoo 12 was the first device from the brand to remove pre-installed Hot Apps and Hot Games folders, reducing the presence of non-removable applications. The phone includes a 144Hz display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery supporting 120W fast charging.

The iQoo 12 is available on Amazon, with pricing at Rs 45,999 for the 12GB/256GB model and Rs 50,999 for the 16GB/512GB variant.

iQoo Neo 10R launch details

iQoo is preparing to launch the iQoo Neo 10R in India on March 11. The smartphone will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor and is expected to be priced under Rs 30,000. The device is positioned as a mid-range offering within the company’s portfolio.
