Iran’s Supreme Leader Vows Continued Support to Anti-Israel Forces Amid Escalating Conflict
Fresh tensions rise in the Middle East as Tehran signals firm backing for resistance groups, while regional spillover impacts UAE

Tehran: Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has pledged that the country will continue to support anti-Israel forces across the Middle East, reinforcing Tehran’s long-standing stance amid intensifying regional conflict.
The message, delivered through a statement read on state television, comes shortly after Khamenei assumed the role of Supreme Leader. In his remarks, he reiterated Iran’s commitment to backing resistance movements, stating that the Islamic Republic’s policy remains aligned with the path of past revolutionary leaders in opposing what he described as the “Zionist-American adversary.”
Referring to a letter addressed to the Lebanese group Hezbollah, Khamenei emphasized that Iran would persist in supporting forces opposing Israel. Since the conflict erupted on February 28, Khamenei has not appeared publicly. U.S. and Israeli officials have speculated that he may have been injured and is currently in hiding, though no official confirmation has been provided by Iranian authorities.
Meanwhile, the conflict’s impact is being felt across the Gulf region. In the United Arab Emirates, a drone intercepted by air defence systems led to debris falling near an industrial area in Umm Al Quwain, injuring an Indian national. Authorities confirmed that the incident occurred near the Umm Al Thuoob Industrial Area, where emergency teams responded promptly.
The government media office in Umm Al Quwain stated that the injury was caused by fragments from the intercepted drone. This marks yet another instance of the conflict spilling beyond its primary zone.
Earlier incidents in the UAE have also raised concerns. Reports indicate that debris from intercepted missiles near Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD) injured five Indian nationals. In a separate घटना, falling missile fragments resulted in two fatalities, including one Indian citizen, according to the Abu Dhabi Media Office.
Since February 28, joint military actions by the United States and Israel against Iran have escalated tensions, with retaliatory strikes expanding the conflict’s reach across the Gulf. The situation continues to evolve, raising fears of a wider regional confrontation.
