iPad Air with M3 processor: What the leaks say
Popular leaker Evan Blass has shared an image on X, that seems to indicate that Apple is currently working on two new iPad Air models, with similar 11-inch and 13-inch screen sizes. Moreover, he also tipped that these iPad Air variants will likely be powered by the M3 chipset, dismissing earlier rumours of Apple bringing the next-gen iPad Air with an M4 SoC.
The M3 chipset will allow the upcoming iPad Air to offer improved performance, particularly in graphics-intensive tasks such as gaming. Rumors also suggest that Apple could introduce a new Magic Keyboard for the iPad Air, featuring a row of function keys for better usability. Further, the device may also offer Wi-Fi 7 support, an improved microphone array, and Apple’s own 5G modem, replacing Qualcomm’s chips for cellular connectivity.
Apple is also believed to be working on a new 11th-gen iPad, that is expected to be powered by the A17 Pro chip. It is the same SoC, that’s being currently used in the iPhone 15 Pro models and the iPad mini 7, and comes with support for Apple Intelligence.
