One Killed, Dozens Injured As Thousands Of PTI Protesters March Towards Islamabad Demanding Imran Khan’s Release
A huge number of Pakistanis are marching towards the capital, Islamabad, in response to a call for protest issued by the party of the imprisoned former prime minister Imran Khan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
PTI shared a post on X, stating that “Thousands and thousands of Pakistanis are peacefully marching in Islamabad.” Meanwhile, one person died and several others sustained injuries during the protest.
The rallying citizens are demanding three key agenda items: the revocation of the 26th Amendment and the restoration of the Constitution, the return of the stolen mandate, and the release of political prisoners.
According to Dawn, the protest was initially planned for November 24, but the convoys paused their journey the night before. PTI leaders stated that they were in “no hurry” to reach the federal capital for their high-stakes protest, as supporters and workers from all over the country braved arrests, baton charges, and tear gas to join the demonstration.Russia-Ukraine war: Kyiv sustained almost 65k casualties from Russia’s Battlegroup North, says report
