PM Modi to Address Massive Rally at Kolkata’s Brigade Parade Ground
Prime Minister to launch and inaugurate ₹18,680 crore infrastructure projects as BJP concludes its ‘Parivartan Yatra’ ahead of West Bengal polls.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a massive political rally on Saturday at the historic Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata.
The rally comes as the Bharatiya Janata Party concludes its statewide “Parivartan Yatra” campaign ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in West Bengal.
The BJP’s West Bengal unit expects a record turnout, with supporters traveling from across the state to attend the event and listen to the Prime Minister’s address. Preparations at the venue are in full swing, and multiple stages are being constructed to manage the large gathering.
Tight Security Arrangements
Authorities have deployed thousands of police personnel to ensure security and manage the expected crowds. Traffic restrictions have also been imposed in several parts of Kolkata to maintain smooth movement during the event.
Major Infrastructure Projects
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for infrastructure and connectivity projects worth around ₹18,680 crore.
These include National Highway projects worth nearly ₹16,990 crore, covering more than 420 kilometers of roads. The initiatives aim to improve road safety, reduce congestion, shorten travel time, and boost regional connectivity and economic growth in eastern India.
One of the key projects is the 231-kilometer-long Kharagpur–Moregram Economic Corridor, which will be developed as a four-lane highway. The corridor is expected to reduce the distance between Kharagpur and Siliguri by about 120 kilometers, cutting travel time by nearly eight hours.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the Dubrajpur Bypass on NH-14 and new bridges over the Kangshabati and Shilabati rivers, further strengthening highway connectivity in the region.
BJP’s Election Push in Bengal
According to West Bengal BJP Vice President Raju Banerjee, organizational preparations for the rally are progressing rapidly. However, he declined to reveal the exact number of stages being built at the venue, citing security protocols.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to attend programs in Silchar in Assam before leaving for Kolkata to participate in the rally and other engagements in West Bengal.
