Russian President Vladimir Putin calls for alternatives to adult content: ‘Banning porn not enough’

The widespread consumption of adult content through pornographic websites is an issue that not just Russia, but the whole world is dealing with, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday while calling for the development of alternatives more “interesting and passionate” to capture people’s attention.

In an interview with Russia-based TV channel Russia Today, Putin emphasised on the need to create something better than porn sites.Russian President

“I think porn sites are visited all across the world. It is not just an issue for us, but for everyone. There can be bans and prohibitions but one has to always come up with alternatives, which is more interesting than a porn website to fill the void that causes greater interest,” Putin said in the televised interview.

When Putin advised ‘sex during work breaks’

Putin has drawn attention with his bizarre suggestions aimed at addressing Russia’s declining birth rate. It was reported in September this year that Putin advised Russians to engage in sexual activity during their lunch and coffee breaks at work in an effort to combat the country’s declining birth rate.Russian President

Russian Health Minister Dr Yevgeny Shestopalov emphasised that work should not be an obstacle to procreation, urging Russians to take advantage of lunch and coffee breaks for family expansion.

“Being very busy at work is not a valid reason, but a lame excuse. You can engage in procreation during breaks, because life flies by too quickly,” Metro quoted Shestopalov as saying.Russian President Upcoming smartphone launches of 2025: From iPhone 17, Samsung Galaxy S25 series to OnePlus 13 and more
