Saudi Arabia Launches SAR 2.5 Billion Development Projects in Makkah and Jeddah

17 infrastructure projects aim to strengthen industrial networks, logistics growth, and service sustainability

Makkah: Saudi Arabia has launched 17 major development projects worth SAR 2.5 billion in Makkah and Jeddah, aimed at enhancing infrastructure networks across the two key regions. The projects were inaugurated on Wednesday, January 28, by Prince Saud bin Mishaal, Deputy Governor of Makkah.

The initiatives were launched under the supervision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal.

According to a report by the Saudi Gazette, the projects will span an area of over 11 million square meters and include the construction of 160 new ready-built factories, significantly boosting industrial capacity in the region.

The development plans focus on installing water transmission pipelines, expanding an existing water station, establishing a quality laboratory within a food cluster, and executing several power and shared services projects.

News agency reports stated that these efforts are aimed at enhancing service sustainability and supporting the rapid growth of the industrial and logistics sectors.

These projects form a crucial part of the ongoing initiatives of the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones, which seeks to create an integrated industrial ecosystem, support national industries, and strengthen the role of the industrial sector as a key driver of the national economy.
