Second Test | England opt to bowl against India

England won the toss and chose to bowl in the second Test of the Tendulkar-Anderson trophy at the Birmingham on Tuesday.

Having beaten India by five wickets in the opening match at Leeds, England are currently leading 1-0 in the five-match series.

England retained the same line-up that won the first Test.

The weather has been rather hot in Birmingham and the surface, bound by a decent covering of grass, is dry underneath.

Edgbaston has been hosting Tests since 1902 and has been one of the most successful grounds for the home team. On this very ground three years ago, England had gunned down a daunting 378 against India.

The visitors have a poor record at the venue as despite playing on eight occasions, they have never won a Test here, losing seven times with the only draw coming in 1986.
